RB4400 - Permanent RoadBlade System
Locations, such as military basses and government facilities, that are at risk from terrorist attacks require additional physical security in order to protect their perimeter long before they reach vital assets and operational areas. The RoadBlade tyre shredding stops a targeted vehicle and prevents them from entering restricted areas.
The Permanent RoadBlade tyre shredding system is recommended for fixed sites and gate entrance or exit applications, where there are high traffic volumes. It is designed to sit flush with the road surface, therefore it will not hinder everyday traffic.
The RoadBlade reduces the risks that come along with hard-stopping systems such as steel plates or bollards. It provides a physical barrier to disable unauthorised vehicles from entering installations while inflicting minimal damage to the vehicle. Placing the RoadBlade a distance from those types of devices provides additional reaction time for security personnel and safety of the suspect vehicle such as an intoxicated or an innocent driver.
Permanent RoadBlade Package
Contains:
1 - Actuator box, 1 – Pole mount box, 1 – Power connection cable, 1 – Control connection cable, 1 – Two button pendant control, 7-50.8cm cut modules, 5 – Prefabricated trenches.
The permanent RoadBlade system has a standard length of 3.66m and can be extended to a maximum of 7.62m per control box. Cut modules sit flush with the road surface with the help of or prefabricated trenches. Designed specifically for our system, they make the installation process easier. The pole mount box removes the electronics from the ground and enables add-ons, such as the wireless remote control, to be easily installed. A 250 pound torque motor allows for on-demand activation, raising or lowering the blades in less than a second.

Benefits & Features
- The pole mount box removes the electronics from the ground and enables integration with other systems.
- With the system installed flush with the road surface, traffic will not feel it’s presence and it will not interfere with snow removal.
- The permanent RoadBlade can requires only two dry contacts to be integrated with new or preexisting access control devices such as arm barriers, keypad entry systems, proximity card readers, and more.
- Heating elements are available as an accessory item. They are installed underneath the modules to maintain a constant temperature above freezing in order to prevent ice build-up.
Electronics
- Power requirement 120 Volts 5 Amps or 240 Volts 2 Amps per system.
- DC battery back-up is standard for each system.
- Pole mount box removes electrical components from the ground surface.
- Pole mount box allows integration with other security devised.
- Control cable wire – 7 strand 16 gauge with an outside diameter total of .706 cm.
- Power Cable write – 3 strand 12 gauge with an outside diameter total of .780 cm.
- Input power runs to the pole mount box and then is dispersed out to the control box.
- System can be run off of either direct AC or DC power.
- Pole mount box provides plug for stop/go light.
